Off-Leash Dogs @ City Parks?

Just so Aurora residents are aware, through public forums at City Council and Parks Committee meetings in 2021 it was determined to adopt an ordinance that would allow off-leash dogs at city parks according to the schedule below. Outside of the permissible schedule, please keep your dogs on a leash. Thanks!

12.04.020 Rules and regulations.

B. Rules of Conduct. No person shall commit any act which is contrary to any existing state law or city ordinance. The following shall be deemed violations of these rules, should any person, within any public park:
1. Allow any unleashed dog owned by him/her or under his/her control, to be present outside the following off-leash hours, with the exceptions noted in part c. of this rule.
a. Aurora City Park. Dogs are permitted to be off-leash daily, during the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
b. Aurora Mills Park. Dogs are permitted to be off-leash daily, during the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
c. Exceptions to a. and b. Dogs must remain leashed during organized community events held within the above parks. Examples of such events include, but are not limited to: Aurora Colony Days and sporting events. Dogs that cannot be controlled while off-leash, must be leashed at all times.
